Blackwater SCUBA Classes
Just a reminder of the upcoming classes- Jan. 24th, at Washington Township, there will be a class by Charlie Mills, who just came through the Divers Alert Network's Med diver week. It will cover dive emergencies and treatment, hazardous marine life and treatment (No, peeing on a jellyfish sting does NOT help, from experience), and a field neuro exam procedure that EVERY public safety diver should have and know.
Jan. 29th and 30th, the surface ice rescue technician class is on, and it looks mother nature will have ice for us. The 29th will be at my shop, and consist of an evening lecture. I am sure an adult beveredge will be had afterwards for a social hour. The 30th will be straight to the ice, and be all hands on, and a long day, but a good one.
With all the ice, I may try to get an Ice Diving Class set up. If you are interested, it would likely be 79.00, and certification would be through IDEA. You must have an Advanced Open Water card, and proper gear. It is a very surreal world under the ice, one that many divers have never seen. It is also dangerous as heck if not done right. Please come out and learn the right way. If you are interested, please shoot me (Steve) a line at digger@blackwaterscuba.com, or 740 808 4113.
